Batter up! Danielle & Kenoli's Engagement Shoot.

Danielle & Kenoli's engagement shoot was really cool because they brought along Baseball Jerseys, bats, baseballs, mitts, etc so it just brought a fun element to certain shots. Kenoli is a very talented player himself so he looked like quite the natural on the Palomar Baseball field while Danielle complimented him very well with her upbeat and incredibly sweet presence. Danielle & Kenoli also arranged for the field tenant to keep the field open late and gave Kenoli access to put their wedding date on the scoreboard!

The shoot began in a somewhat comedic mood because we seriously showed up, shook hands, and it was "go team!". We literally began running all over the field racing against the setting sun (see pic below). The light was gorgeous but it was moving quicker than expected so it was pretty fast-paced compared to most shoots. Although I think we all enjoyed the excitement of moving so quick through everything. Danielle and Kenoli were such good listeners and just busted out everything we threw at them. Danielle also had a bunch of really cool ideas for shots so it was the ideal scenario being that we had such limited time to nail it. All in in all, the shoot was HOME RUN!

Sheyna and Gavin

Sheyna and Gavin were in town one last time before they tie the knot. We had excellent weather at the park and really enjoyed their company. I just loved their dynamic. I know we say it almost too often but we are so fortunate in that all the couples we photograph we feel like old friends by the end of the shoot. Also, in this case Sheyna and Weston had graduated in the same class at Ramona High so it was a bit of a reunion in that we all knew each other back in the day. And, don't want to leave you out Gavin, it was wonderful to meet and get to know you. I bet you enjoyed watching Tiger win ;)

The only truth in that statement Courtney is that you are hilarious. That cracked me up but also made us realize how many of you look at our blog and want to see new pics. Tomorrow I promise you some juicy new photos :)

World Vision Girls in Crisis Fund

Wow, all we can say is WOW! We felt so welcomed at your wedding. Your family, friends and especially the two of you made us feel as if we were the guests of the evening or something. That really meant a lot to us. We know that you were bummed that it rained, but boy, it makes for some really sweet images. Not to sound cheesy, but it was pretty darn romantic. Looking forward to having you in to the studio so that you can see them BIG before they go online. But Kent, Julie tells us your a hard working guy and i know it may be tough for you to come in, just keep us posted. Thanks again you two. Oh, and can we just say that you all know how to have some serious fun! We are so blessed and honored to have been able to photograph your special day.

Photo Shoot!

Cross your fingers for us because this week Weston and I have been shooting for the awesome San Diego Style Weddings Magazine. We are definitely hoping for a cover, so say a little prayer for us ;) We wanted to extend a big thank you to Dena, head hauncho over at the mag. Thanks for letting us get edgy, and sometime even a bit too edgy with your models (not sure if the one with the vintage cigarette holder and ciggie is going to make it but it sure was fun to shoot!) We can't display any images because of course we want it to be a big surprise, but I can post some fun ones from the chaos of the day.

So as most of you know (by our lack of quick responses last week, I wasn't a good fill in for her at all, she is just sooooo darn organized!) that our lovely Studio Manager, Crystal, was out of the office last week. We had the huge honor of shooting her wedding and I truly cannot convey how wonderful and romantic the whole day was. The reception was at Bella Victorian Vineyard, which could easily double as a movie set because I could just see it in a "Father of the Bride" type flick. I will be sure to blog more once they are ready to go.

Alexis & Steve's Eng Session on the docks

So we ended up shooting Alexis & Steve's engagement shoot downtown near the Midway. There's some fishing boat docks nearby that we got access to so we went for it. It was really relaxing because there was absolutely no one else around as we passed by boat after boat. Nice job you two, hope you dig the shots! I thought the shots turned out pretty sweet, check 'em out...

So here's the scenario...Lindsay and Brandon are lookin' to do the engagement shoot. Well given that Brandon is a flight instructor who has access to planes, a plane hangar, and the airport in general, it's safe to say that we were as ready as Maverick was to buzz the tower on this baby. We actually shot for almost two hours; you could say we got carried away. So first things first, Lindsay & Brandon show up in an immaculate black Audi S4 that you could eat literally eat off of it was so clean. I'm already impressed. Then we head over to the plane hangar and give them a ride in our dog hair covered car, embarrassing. Now we're at the hangar and decide to get some shots in front of it since it's pretty daunting in size and makes for quite the backdrop. So then we pull aside the 2 huge steel rolling doors to unveil the brand spankin' new Cessna plane and pull it out to crank up the propeller and take a quick stroll over to another area of the airport for some killer shots. This plane was seriously nice inside, the aroma of the leather combined with the color screens and engine roar made me quickly realize how bad I wanted to take off and spend some air time in this baby! So we ended up shooting all sorts of stuff around the plane and shot until the sun basically went down. It was a good time for Marissa and I because we had so much open space but also such a freakin' cool prop (no pun intended) to shoot with. Lindsay, Brandon, BRAVO! You guys rocked this shoot. This couple IS saucy as stated in the video. They worked it out and the shots speak for themselves.

Lily & Chris' Wedding! Balboa Park, El Cortez, and more!

Lily & Chris' wedding was really cool because the wedding bounced around quite a bit to different locations throughout the day. From Lily's house for getting ready shots, to the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for the Ceremony, to Balboa Park for all sorts of portraits, to the El Cortez for a seriously beautiful reception. Lily and Chris make you smile when you watch them together, they have an unspoken connection that is immediately identifiable. What's also admirable is that they're friends and family are so tight-knit so taking photos of everybody was effortless. We just let them run the show, gave some pointers and came up with some shots that we absolutely love! The people we work with continue to leave us with such a sense of appreciation for keeping the ones you love close. Well done Lily, Chris, Family, and Friends! Enjoy the slideshow. Be sure to let us know if anyone has any trouble with the slideshow feature. We're giving it a try since posting every shot individually isn't working too well for us anymore.

I thought it would be fun to post some of our latest wedding albums that we have designed these past two weeks. Weston and I have two different ways that we design albums. One is what we call a "Storybook" design where a higher volume of photos is used to tell all the details of the story. See examples in the links below. The other way is the "Art Book" design, in which less photos are chosen and laid out in a very simple design to showcase the art of the very best images. This too creates a lot of emotion and provides a huge "wow" factor. The choice can be difficult at times, but we are here to help you figure out which direction you want to go in.

So here we are making the most of San Diego down at La Jolla Cove. I'd have to say that we've shot more engagement shoots at La Jolla Cove than any other location; and for good reason. It's really taught us to think outside the box in the sense that we deliberately try to shoot it different than any time prior. Initially you would think to go for an all sunny colorful look but with the light quality there and different areas of the cove you can get some really interesting vibes that aren't of the norm. Kim and Dan fully impressed Marissa and I with their comfort level in front of the camera. Tourists were gawking at times, almost curious as to whether they were celebrities or not ;). Kim and Dan definitely have quite a presence to them; and they're extremely accessible and warm in conversations. They took direction incredibly well and just went for it by having fun with every shot and we couldn't be happier with the results! Marissa and love to make our couples look their best; I think it's one of our main strengths. We love that editorial, Calvin Klein black and white and moody feel. I always try to think of that Chris Isaak video "Wicked Game" for inspiration in the back of my mind when trying to go for that sexy, grainy, black and white taste in the exposure. Sheesh, that reminds me I forgot to add grain to these shots! What a dope, oh well, forgive me and just imagine they're grainier for now :). I'll add it when they go in our main site's eng gallery. I suppose the high iso gave it some grain though. Can't wait for the wedding you guys! By the way if you can believe it there are like 300 other shots that I can't wait for you guys to see. Nice job you two!

In Laguna Beach with the lovely couple Melissa & Adam!

The shot above is one of my faves in a long time (Click on it to enlarge). I just love her expression and the way the wind blew her hair across her face and the way the sun lit everything from that direction. Then adding the mysterious tall, dark and handsome Adam sealed the deal. :)

We don't leave San Diego too often to do engagement shoots but when it's Laguna Beach on a practically private beach, all that goes out the window. So we meet up with Melissa and Adam at the Montage Hotel Bar/Lounge and we were stoked to see that they were chillin' having a drink before the e-session began. We always think a drink takes the edge off and everyone becomes a bit more relaxed in front of the camera and more willing to have fun with it. But go beyond a couple drinks or more and then you're askin' for trouble. Lucky for us, Melissa and Adam took the conservative route.

Whoa, got sidetracked there...So in a nutshell, Adam & Melissa's photo collection were one of Marissa and I's absolute favorites. There were at least 150+ photos that I was totally stoked on. I wanted to put them all up on the blog! We felt so comfortable around them and I kept thinking to myself, I could totally hang out with these two. They're so relaxed, positive and have a great sense of humor. We loved their dynamic as a couple, just so happy to be around each other and in the moment. Yet another couple that we're totally impressed with. Sometimes when I'm driving behind bad drivers I'm certain that I've lost all hope in humanity but people like our clients remind me to reconsider. Well...until I get behind them on the road I suppose ;p. Anyway I'll stop blabbin', check out the shots...

Here's Marissa in action. Yes I purposely left her bubble butt in the shot for my own amusement. What?! It's my wife I can say stuff like that right? or? hmm.

The shot above cracks me up. Adam's boxers have that Gnome from Travelocity on them and it says "Rollin' with my Gnomies". That's genius in my opinion. Stupid, but genius. I love humor like that.

I love night time! (Sappy Marissa here again, obviously) Night time is when Weston and I really feel creative. It is when we get to settle down and plug away at designing albums, something that we really love to do. To keep us company we watch movies, he watches comedies, which I also like, but I just adore the ol' classics more than anything. Give me Audrey Hepbrun, Marilyn Monroe or Lucille Ball over new movies any day. What I think is so inspiring about the films is how timeless they are. There really is something so elegant and classy about an old black and white movie. I know I am really stating the obvious here. But I still feels good to say anyway. So whats my point....if any of you have an old movie you recommend I would love for you to let me know. Please!

WEDDING AND PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHERS INTERNATIONAL 2008 - LAS VEGAS

So usually a week in Vegas is too long for us but I definitely take that back. To say this trip was cooler than penguins would be an understatement. Where do I even start?! We made so many great contacts, met so many talented people, learned from the greats in our industry, and had tons-o-fun. Check out the recap ya'll... (keep in mind the shots were taken with our "point & poop" camera so excuse the quality)
Let's start things off right shall we? Well, not really. We heard a weird noise while driving before even getting on the freeway from San Diego so I thought it wouldn't hurt to go to the nearby tire store because it sounded like a flat. Well, I came to find that our tires were way too bald to risk driving to Vegas with it fully loaded. So with new tires all around we were on our way finally, just a mere $660 dollars later!
For those people who tell us that Marissa and I will create beautiful children...reconsider based on the photo above. We got this done at the New York New York hotel, pure comedy. I can't wait until that style of wedding photography comes back. j/k

This is Crystal being optimistic after having a full glass of red wine spilled on her by our lovely waitress at restaurant with lame service in the Planet Hollywood Hotel. Poor Crystal, she didn't deserve that; or me blogging it for that matter...whoops.

This is right before we were going in to see KA at the MGM Grand. Compliments of Sean and Kevin from KISS Wedding Books (www.KissWeddingBooks.com), you guys flippin' rock! Thank you! It's a seriously good show, not better than "O", but different and unique to itself. The other shot is a compilation of photo booth shots from Kiss' hip photo booth that they had at their WPPI booth.
Here we are after seeing "O" at the Bellagio Hotel. WOW is all I can say. The scents, the sights, the performers, unbelievable. SEE THIS SHOW in your lifetime. They had to kick us out after the show because we just wanted to sit there and marinate in the experience.
Here we are hanging out at New York New York Hotel with the guys from KISS Wedding Books along with some other awesome photographers such as Mike Larson (you rock!). Drinks were on KISS, again thanks you guys!

Here are our 3 lovely employees (that's sounds so impersonal, you guys are such blessings) Crystal, Kimee, and Deena at the Bellagio Piano Bar.
This is Carlos Baez who was kind enough to befriend us, take us under his wing, and share some of the awesome advice and insight he had to offer. If you ever get a chance to hear him speak, definitely check him out. He spoke at Graphi Studio's booth and at the Adobe booth which we both attended and loved.
This is inside the Celebrity Suite inside the Palms hotel. It was a sweet industry party put on by Pixel to Canvas and Flo Sites. Thanks for the invite guys! Ross, looking forward to working with you ASAP.

We also got to attend the insane BluDomain and KISS party at a Las Vegas mansion called "Paradise Palace". It was like being on an episode of MTV cribs, seriously. All the big names were there like Mike Colon, Jeff Woods, Jesh De Rox, and I even got to meet the drummer from LA Slumlords whose song appeared in Guitar Hero III! I love that game! Rockband is taking up my evenings lately though. Marissa and I are called "The Butchers" and we are currently on tour.

Here we are at the WPPI Canon welcoming party. Pretty cool but it was so huge that it was hard to get to know anyone.

Okay, so people think that PURE at Caesar's Palace is one of the best clubs in Vegas? Ha! That place is all hype and they think that you should be touched by God (or Satan) to enter their mighty gates. Scoff, that place is lame compared to The Bank at the Bellagio. Better sound, better crowd, better staff, better layout, better DJs, period. By the way, hit up the Bellagio Cafe for the best belgian waffle you've ever had or try the Eggs Benedict for a flavor blast on your tongue.

One of our favorite seminars that we took was by Matthew Jordan Smith who was a frequent photographer on America's Next Top Model. What a seriously sharp guy who made success a reality by going after it and not taking no for an answer. Other seminar highlights included Yervant of course and Hernan.

Me and Marissa with Eileen Rafferty from Collages.net. Meghan and her are so good with people, I don't think there's anyone better for a face of a company than them. We've been hosting our proofs with them for a couple years now and haven't looked back. They offer some awesome Gallery Wraps too. Great color accuracy and construction. They've been kind enough to feature some of our images on their homepage, albums , gallery wraps and at their convention booths.

We absorbed a ton of information and found out about some really cool products while at the show. Finally bought a Lens Baby 3G, but dang the learning curve and logistics of the thing take some time. Worth it though once you get the hang of it, or at least that's what I keep telling myself to feel better. :)

We got a chance to dance at Studio 54 at the MGM Grand but it took some major coaxing on my part. Looking back I thought that was weird because usually I have to be forced to dance but I don't know what it is about Vegas that just makes me feel totally relaxed dancing horribly in front of spectacular dancers. So this guy in the middle here was the highlight of the night. I would love to know his story. My guess is that his grandson didn't want to watch him so he gave him his hip, stylized hoodie sweatshirt and said "this is studio 54 grandpa, now go have fun!". Everyone in the club loved this guy because he would shamelessly dance with all the girls, for hours at a time. We know because we danced our butts off at this place. Good times. 'Til next year!

Lily & Chris at La Jolla Cove!

Lily and Chris' engagement shoot down at the Cove was a seriously good time. It reminded me of how blessed Marissa and I are to be involved in a profession that literally documents and celebrates people finding love. And for good measure, also being able to live and shoot in sunny San Diego is something I constantly try to remind myself of how lucky we are. I mean being down at La Jolla cove where tourists are swarming from all over the world and we are just a hop, skip and a jump away. I'm not sure anyone can deny that being near nature is literally healing to the soul. It somehow makes everything else you were worrying about in life seems so small; it's a serious perspective shift; suddenly being a beach bum sounds kinda nice :).

My impression of Lily and Chris was simply genuine. They really impressed me and Marissa with their striking expressions and you couldn't help but admire how with the closer they embraced, the more calm they appeared finding comfort in each other. Lily is a delivery nurse while Chris works for the gaming commission. The guy has got a seriously intimidating stature about him but he's so welcoming at the same time which you wouldn't think would make sense. We like them a lot and after the session we knew the wedding day would be breeze with how well they photograph.

It's pretty funny to watch me and Marissa shoot a couple because we're always laughing at each other as we shoot. For instance, I made the stupid mistake of wearing this cadet style hat with a bill and since it got in the way of putting my camera's viewfinder to my eye I had to just prop it up on my head which made me look like a total clown. Marissa didn't hesitate for a second to point out how lame I looked, lol. Then she took a shot of me (see below). I tried putting it backwards like Sylvester Stallone in that arm-wrestling movie "Over the Top" but that was super-lame as well. Then at another recent shoot with Ashley & Eddie I found myself in a peculiar position (to get a certain angle on a shot) which Marissa also didnt' hesitate to point out that I looked like I was in position for a camping-style bathroom break (photo also below). She was right though, I look pretty ridiculous. I know she loves me at my best or worst, bad breath, good breath, bed head, so whateves! ;p

Yoko & Shane at the Grande Colonial in La Jolla!

Hey Yoko & Shane! Hope you get a chance to read this blog post because we've been dying to show off some of the photos from your gorgeous wedding at the Grande Colonial Hotel in La Jolla. We added a gallery to our new website as well because these babies need to be seen!

So a little background on the couple...Yoko is a massage therapist (Shane, you scored there!) and Shane is in the same business as us, photography :). When we first met Yoko & Shane it was at Bondi restaurant in downtown San Diego for their engagement shoot. We admired Yoko & Shane right off the bat with how down to earth and humble they are as people; it made shooting them a piece of cake and gave us all the creative freedom in the world. Long story short the engagement shots turned out awesome(of which I'll be adding some to our site's engagement gallery soon).

Come the day of the wedding, these two were extremely jazzed about taking even more photos now that they were all spruced up for their big day. What was great about Yoko & Shane was that they valued the photography so much that they allocated more time than any couple thus far that we've worked with. We can't stress the importance of this enough to couple's we meet with. If Marissa and I can be given solid creative freedom and time in the schedule, your photos will be testament to those factors. Sure we work great under pressure and get what we need, but that's really a disservice to what could've been had we had more time.

The wedding was a complete success, Marissa and I were honored to be a part of Yoko & Shane's union and merging of two very unique and special families. Speaking of, what a great bunch of family and friends you guys have! It was so cool seeing Yoko's Mom in traditional Kimono attire. Also, loved the custom ring made by Derrick Obatake at www.SteelFlame.com.

A Beautiful Palm Desert Wedding

Holy Guacamole....Jacklyn and Scott. Another match made in heaven. You two wowed us all day with your love, your friends and family and your..... organization. What an on the ball couple ;) Their ceremony was at a gorgeous church, St. Francis of Assisi Church in Palm Desert. The reception was in a tent at The Toscana Country Club in Indian Wells. The day could not have been better.

It's still in it's infant stages as far as photo gallery content but hopefully in a couple weeks we'll have much more uploaded for your viewing pleasure. Until then, there's all sorts of fun stuff on it right now to hold you over. Such as silly videos and photos of me and Riss, new testimonials, a recent wedding with Alexa & Matt, etc.

We're super excited about the site because we finally are able to showcase our work as intended, in large format. Our old site only displayed at the size of a 4x6 print so we're ecstatic about the billboard-like size and visual impact of the new one.

This couple had mentioned that they had been considering a destination elopement. At their wedding they spoke about how happy they were that they had changed their minds and gotten married with all their friends and family present. It is always so cool to meet two people and then be in a scenario where I can observe all their friends and family- watching all their loved ones adoring eyes on them all day, I can totally see why an elopement would have been a bad idea... I think their friends and fam would have just followed them anyway.

Hey, Marissa speaking today. So, I am sure that I am not alone when I say that the movie and the soundtrack to Romeo and Juliet really struck a cord with me. I gigigle when I imagine me in the theater, starry-eyed and bracefaced at the time sitting next to my pals who had been "going out" for a few days. Anyway, I was listening to the soundtrack again and I came across a song I had totally forgotten about- "Everybody's Fee" by Quindon Tarver. The song starts off with a super fun, almost silly dialog about living free. Even though you take it with a grain of salt I think a lot of it really rings true. Maybe download it from Itunes for a smile. I listened to it 5 minutes ago and I am still smiling. Oh, and make sure you get the version with the dialog in the beginning. :)

A new website!

A Kitchy 5th Anniversary

For our 5th anniversary (jan 3rd) Weston and I drove out to vegas for some much anticipated fun! We had a vow renewel at The Little White Chapel which we totally recommend. The whole experience was very novel and a bit tongue in cheek, but oh so fun! Weston even surprised me with a band that matched my wedding ring perfectly (we couldn't afford one when we got married 5 years ago). How great is he! We also had a great stay at the Venetian thanks to Stan and Jeanette (trailbrook photog, you two rock, thank you).

We saw O, a Cirque show which we highly recommend. This was the only pic we could sneak :)

The show was so inspiring and really got me excited about all that art and photography has to offer the world. It is such a blessing.

Bouchér displayed at NYC's National Photo Plus Trade Show!

We're excited to say that we were contacted by the wonderful people at Collages.net recently with some images of our work being displayed at their booth for New York City's National Photo Plus trade show. Marissa and I love the fact that our Studio Name and images are in New York, period :), yay for us! Just wanted to let everyone know that all of your wedding photos are 100% safe! :). We have several evacuees(family & friends) inside the Bouchér residence/studio and it has definitely become quite the full house. Business has been down for a few days now based on possible evacuations but our Assistants Kimee and Crystal will be coming in today for a few hours to start getting caught up with client-related emails, etc. In the meantime Marissa and I (Weston) will be accommodating our guests and staying glued to the news/internet/AM Radio to make sure we are on top of any new information on the fire's progress. We aren't in the clear just yet based on our location being right in the middle of most of the fire ring that is around the county. Lucky for us it has kept it's distance and traveled towards the coast. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone out there who is experiencing this tragic week. We are incredibly grateful for our current situation and simply feel terrible for those who are in a much more difficult situation than us; those who have lost everything or are displaced from their homes. Wanted to also thank all our clients who have been so kind as to inquire about our situation; we love ya! Thank you for thinking of us. We hope that you are all safe as well.

Boucher goes south of the border!

So it was off to Rosarito for our second wedding south of the border at the beautiful Calafia Hotel & Resort. Talk about a beautiful setting! The wedding took place at an open air cliffside site overlooking the aqua blue water; just near sunset. Emily and Rod were true class, just an absolute pleasure to know and work with; beautiful people inside and out. Watching the way Emily looked at Rod during the ceremony was tearjerking to say the least. The wedding was a complete success; I wish I could've put every shot up here honestly (1900+)! Of course though later that night we almost got lost again trying to find the border crossing; it's confusing right?! Here's some of our favorite shots from the day!

I love my talented hubby! When I looked at this photo for the first time it made my heart melt. Weston was left with the Erin and Dan to finish up on some of thier portraits and I snuck into the reception room before guests entered to take photos. So I didn't get to see where he took the couple for the photos. For that reason I was so taken by surprise when I saw this gorgeous image after he had downloaded our memory cards. We have such different styles and he never ceases to amaze me. Good job baby! (oh and Erin and Dan you two look hot!)

You're looking at Rachel and Patrick...talk about a MFEO couple(made for each other)! I swear we are so blessed with the couples that come to us; they're just a true pleasure to know and be around. These two had already been a couple for 10 years prior to their engagement and you wouldn't have known for a second with how flirtatious and cuddly they were with each other. Translation...perfect to photograph! We bounced around downtown and after shooting just under an hour, we knew that we sealed the deal and got some of our best engagement shots yet. We couldn't of been more excited to hear the news that we were selected/voted for The Knot's Nationwide "Best of Weddings 2007". We immediately had to get a copy of the magazine to see it for ourselves ;). It's a huge blessing for us being that The Knot is a household name in our industry. While out of all of San Diego's Photographers, from what we understand we were one of a mere 11 chosen based on the highest votes! In defense of other photographers we personally admire and know out there; there is a select few that I felt deserved to be on that list as well; but I'm not complaining ;p.

We apparently rated a 94.5 out of 100. Here is an excerpt from the actual magazine where we're listed on page 278:

Engagement shoot turned Save the Date cards!

So we just finished up designing some "Save The Date" postcards for a lovely couple named Bekah and Tim that we recently shot an engagement session with. You can't help but smile when you're around these two, they're full of life and friendly as can be. And as you can see the shots turned out great in the sense that their personalities transferred over so well. They had an intial idea of how they wanted the cards and then we just had fun with it and as you can see we came up with a few different versions along the way.

2 weeks in Kauai...BREATHTAKING! We were lucky enough to shoot an incredible wedding at the Grand Hyatt Resort and then tack some vacation time on the back half of the trip. The wedding couldn't have gone better and the trip itself was unforgettable. Clark & Nikki couldn't have been more gracious and their shots are some of our best yet. I think the best way to describe the island is that it's a tropical version of Yosemite so every direction you look is amazing. Here's some shots from the wedding as well as some scenic shots I took(the wedding ones will be added soon)...

Romance in the Winter

Helenna and Travis were married on 1/6/07. It was one for the books let me tell you. A beautifully romantic day, a pure joy to photograph. Helenna and her family spent so much time and creativity on the decor. And the love that Travis has for his Bride was inspiraton to everyone.

Our first trip to Europe! Sightseeing, Laughter, Warm Soda, and Allergies!

Wow, what a trip! 23 days in Europe; talk about a complete culture shock! We wouldn't trade the memories for anything but let me tell you this was definitely not a relaxing vacation, it was an adventure with highs, lows, and everything in between; and throw in some sandwich with that mayo please haha ;). Oh and can I have some warm soda for 6 euros, hee hee. Poor Weston developed the most intense allergies in Paris, it took every one of these medications to make him functional. He is tough though and we still managed to have the time of our lives and take 2000 pictures, literally. It was 23 days of love, laughter and adventure.......

PS. One last word of advice, don't take Air India, ever, (Mick Scrivener, THE Elite British DJ we should have listened to you) and don't take tattered cough drops from old ladies on trains, I don't care how nice they look. I am still wondering what exactly I ingested. And Weston wants me to tall all of you that you have to see the Catacombs in Paris. It will scare the heck out of you.

Engagement Session in Downtown!

We had been dying to do an Engagement shoot in Downtown San Diego...and the day had finally come! Christy & Todd were up to the challenge and they simply did outstanding; their chemistry was more than we could ask for. We walked all over the gaslamp area of town and just kept finding one awesome spot after another; it was a creative high for all four of us because we all enjoyed the scenery and contributed to tons of different ideas as we went from place to place. Todd had the idea of checking out a new place that some friends of theirs were opening so made our way over but it was still under construction. But that was the good part! There was an ad on the front of the construction walls that not only had great impact but complete relevance because wouldn't you know Todd is pure Australian!
"Hey what do you guys think of the idea of getting in that fountain?" They were practically in there before I could finish the sentence! Here are some more shots from the session...Enjoy!

Wedding Guestbook at it's best

In order to buck the tradition of the somewhat drab guestbook, we have come up with an idea to create a 8x8 album that guests can sign, leaving a personal message to the couple. We have had couples tell us that this is an awesome album to have as piece on a coffee table or bookshelf because not only is it a unique photobook, but it signed by all the most important people in your life. Better yet it can always be left out, rather than the traditional guest book that usually finds its way into storage, or that don't even get signed at weddings because people tend to pass them by ;(

These are some examples of the layouts we have done in the past. The empty space is for guests to sign. The couple shown is Genenvieve and Greg, at the wedding their guests loved this book. They got endless compliments on it and so did we. We could tell that their guests felt honored to sign a preciaous memory of theirs.

Fun and Different

Winter Engagement Session

Weston and I have been having such a good time with our photography and the couples we meet that we are feeling compeled to share it with everyone.

Helenna and Travis are having a winter themed wedding in January at the Hotel Del. We thought it was an awesome idea to have their engagement session follow that theme. We all went up to Julian got lost in all that it had to offer. From it's apple pie, to the rolling field with snow, to the freeeeeeezing weather. We all had such a good time.
